[PRESS DOWNLOAD TO DESKTOP, THEN UNZIP THE FILE TO WATCH]

Please forgive the compression artifacts and such, I had to compress the video a lot to get it a usuable size for online distribution. Just pay attention to the mouse movements, and the audio narration, and you should be fine.

This is a 30 minute long video (which requires divx, if you dont have that, get it here: [link] )

This video covers some basics of hacking up photos to make the kind of abstract image collages like in the preview. It covers some file saving information and other general stuff along the way, too. So it may be a beneficial watch for those of you who may not think you _need_ to watch it.

If you have any questions, please leave them here. If they're in reference to the video, please leave a time signature (like 24m34s), so I can find the specific point you're referring to. Hope it helps some people.

Very nice, thanks! I followed your tutorial and came up with this [link]

twas easy because i already had a theme of "signs" e.g road etc from graphic design coursework. You can definitely see the resemblance to your work/style. Please leave a comment, critique most welcomed.

Thanks again

Wow, this is really an excellent tutorial! I'm familiar with photoshop but I learned SO MUCH!! For one, I should make friends with the pen tool. Also learned all those neat keyboard tricks like holding down shift and dragging a selection from one file into another file. Oh and the alt-click on the pen layer to turn it into a selection -- would've taken me forever to figure that out. :worship: I really hope I can enter this contest in time. I'm so excited!! Thanks for all the help!

Thanks, Dan! I learned some good stuff from this tutorial! I especially liked your use for the LAB color mode, since I was just talking with someone this week about how I have no uses for LAB. I understand that LAB is how Photoshop actually works with color on the back-end, but I've never seen anyone actually use it! Way cool, man. It seems like every time I find a feature of Photoshop, and think, "what would anyone ever use that for!?" then I find someone has a use for it! Totally awesome! Thanks for all the hard work. A :+fav: is the least I can do! =D
